Hagon Shock for Lambretta
British made shock absorber for the Lambretta Series 1, 2 or 3. Yes, British made thanks to a scooterist that took the matter into his own hands. He wanted something better than the current standard shocks, such as the Indian made Escorts, or the Italian made Sebacs. However, he also didn't want to have to pay £130 plus for the likes of a Taffspeed or a Gaz.
Now, there is a market for all of the above but there was also a then unfilled "in between" market, i.e. for a quality shock but at a reasonable price. The nearest thing at the time was to convert a Yamaha R6 shock but this meant getting one at a decent price, disassembling it, buying and fitting a new spring and then buying and fitting new bushes, once you had removed the old ones. These shocks are still about and highly rated, however, for the average scooterist, it's a heck of a lot easier to buy the Hagon and be done with it.
One of the biggest advantages of the Hagon other than it's quality, is its 2 year guarantee!! Yes, honest and while it doesn't apply to the chrome (fair enough) it's pretty rare on a part for a Lambretta, not only this but it's TUV approved. If it satisfies the German scrutineers, well, what more is there to say?
While the Hagon Shock is fairly standard looking, apart from the chrome spring that is, it is not adjustable in height. However, it does have pre-load i.e. spring tension is adjustable and comes supplied with a C spanner do so. Additionally, the bushes are replaceable and are quite substantial.
Sandy Scooters usually stock a few of these, though we can always order you one in if you need one in particular as they come in 2 different lengths for clearances of the inlet manifold on some TS1's etc.
